Quality Inspector

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Inspector to join our team and ensure that our automotive products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will have a sharp eye for detail, strong technical knowledge, and a commitment to maintaining excellence in our manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed inspections of automotive parts, components, and assemblies to verify compliance with specifications and industry standards.
  • Use precision measurement tools and equipment to conduct inspections and tests, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
  • Document inspection results by completing reports, logs, and entering data into quality control databases.
  • Identify, document, and report any defects or non-conformities found during inspections.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address and resolve quality issues, providing feedback and recommendations for improvements.
  • Conduct regular audits of manufacturing processes and procedures to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes to prevent recurrence of quality issues.
  • Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Stay updated with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in quality control and inspection.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Quality Inspector in the automotive industry or a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of quality control principles, standards, and practices.
  • Proficiency in using precision measurement tools and equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and observational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and standards such as ISO 9001.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality control software.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Work is typically performed in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, and other elements common to automotive manufacturing settings.
